Kids Mid-Week Activity #5: Connect the Dots

by Ethan Johnstone on April 26, 2020

This month we celebrated Good Friday and Easter. That means that this month our kids have most likely heard the stories of Jesus’ death and Jesus’ resurrection. Now, while these stories are fresh on their minds, is a great time to help them connect the dots by explaining the gospel to them.

Whether our kids have made a decision to follow Jesus or not, this is a message that they need to hear from us over and over.

Step One: Watch this video on “How to the Share the Gospel with Your Kids”.

Step Two: Look for an opportunity to share the gospel with your kids this week.

Tips:

  • Keep it interactive. Write down the things they say. Think dialogue – not monologue.
  • Be comfortable with saying “I don’t know”. If they have a question that you don’t know the answer to just say, “I don’t know. We should look for the answer together.”
  • Don’t force it. If they lose interest just take a break and try again later.
  • After going through it once, give them an opportunity to draw it or tell you what to draw. This will increase their understanding.
