Pathfinder Mission Trip

August 19, 2026

A hard-working mission team from Seabreeze helped accomplish important construction projects at Pathfinder Church in Reno two weeks ago! Pathfinder, another church in the 17:6 Network, recently acquired a property. It is an awesome spot! Pathfinder starts meeting at this new location Sunday, August 23rd. Scott Lamberth, the Lead Pastor of Pathfinder, led the charge for our team and gave us a few larger, more complicated projects to get done during our time there. Many people on our team had experience with these kinds of projects, which was helpful.

Some of our team drove up with tools, and the rest of us flew in on Wednesday, August 5th, and we hit the ground running! The first project was to create the forms for the concrete patio area at the front of the church. This patio provides a much-needed connection area where their church members can gather on Sunday mornings before and after their service. Once the form was completed and the gravel underneath was leveled, our team began installing the rebar on Thursday morning—at 6:00 am! Since Reno was so hot the week we were there (95 degrees and warmer), we ended up starting our workday early every day. While some of our team was working on the concrete project, the other half of us were working in their new Auditorium. We were tasked with ripping out half of the room’s old carpet and scraping off any adhesive glue from the carpet that was on the subfloor—and there was a lot of scraping from the glue left over!

The leveling of the floor was an important task that took more time than we originally thought. However, this step was crucial and had to be done correctly and with excellence. After many trips to Home Depot and conversations with Scott on the best path forward, a plan was hatched and executed. It was a lot of work, but we were determined to get it done! One of our team’s favorite parts about this mission trip was having fun while working alongside each other. Although it was a tiring and hot week, it was also enjoyable and fun to get to know each other better while completing projects for the advancement of God’s kingdom.

We started early again on that Saturday and finished the flooring. Our entire team ended up helping with the floor installation, and it was very physically demanding! God gave us a lot of energy to sustain us during this trip—we were so grateful. We knew that completing this project was going to be a huge blessing for Pathfinder and would greatly improve the look of their space to how they envisioned it. We also had other smaller projects that our team was working on. One of the team members is a plumber, so he did plumbing-specific jobs that were a big help to Scott. Several other tasks that our team completed were building their stage in their Auditorium, painting in their kids' rooms, and putting together large metal canopies for their new concrete patio area.

Even though we spent most of our time working, we were able to explore Reno a bit and have fun with Scott and his wife Penny. On our last day, we attended Pathfinder’s church service and then went out to lunch with them. They gave us more insight into how they plan to use their new church property, which was really encouraging for our team to hear how our part will help their church's mission move forward. Thank you to everyone who prayed for and supported our trip! Please join us in praying for Pathfinder’s Grand Opening—that God would move the hearts of people in Reno to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and learn to grow in Him through the work of Pathfinder Church.
