Serving with Bracken's Kitchen

by Seabreeze Church on January 29, 2019

Several excited volunteers from Seabreeze were able to help serve food to the residents of Warwick Square in Santa Ana last Tuesday! This opportunity was in partner with Bracken’s Kitchen, and it was a fun night interacting with families and individuals from the local community. Warwick Square is a lower income housing complex where Bracken’s Kitchen regularly provides healthy, sustaining meals to those who live there. Being able to volunteer in this way was a rewarding experience for all.

Not only was it encouraging to volunteer with Bill Bracken, a Seabreeze member and founder of Bracken’s Kitchen, but we enjoyed being a part of something bigger than ourselves and our own needs. We each were assigned a different role for the evening, some helping with plating food on the truck while others handing out the plates of food while others serving salad and dessert. There was also a station where fresh produce was bagged and ready to be given to the residents so that they had more food for later in the week. We were all so glad to have been there to help out!

Spectrum News was also at the feeding in order to capture a story about Bracken’s Kitchen and what all the organization does to serve others. You can watch it here.
