Office Renovation - Fire-Rated Wall and T-Bar

by Lance Unrau on April 03, 2024

Over the last three weeks, most of the work on the offices has been related to the fire-rated wall between the student space and offices. Corrections to the plans were submitted to the city on March 12, and after a round of revisions, they were approved. Praise God! The corrections involve installing three layers of drywall, all with specific fire-rated caulking to fill any gaps. The cost for the additional work is estimated at $25,000.

Last week, we focused on implementing the corrections to the fire-rated wall.  We had our first inspection on that wall correction on Monday, April 1st, but it did not pass. During that inspection, the inspector was very clear on what he wanted to see, so it seems likely that we will pass the next inspection, which is scheduled for this coming Tuesday, April 9th. Once that inspection passes, completing that work and passing the final fire-rated wall inspection should be a smoother process.

In addition to the firewall work, most of the T-bar ceilings have been installed. Next week, we will begin installing the lights and cabinets.

Please pray specifically for…

  • The inspection of the first fire-wall layer on April 8th will be passed.
  • The work on the corrections to go quickly and smoothly.
  • Wisdom as we continue to make decisions on the project
