Encouragement to Start

We’re excited to start “Pray for 5” this week! Thank you for taking the challenge to spend intentional time in prayer for the people that God has strategically placed in your life. Our goal in prayer is to partner with God in bringing the people we know into a relationship with Him. Ultimately, we’re looking to God to change the hearts of people in our community and it’s a privilege to be a part of that! 

For the next 5 weeks, you will receive weekly encouragement to pray. Each week you will receive a text message when a new post is added to this webpage. The posts will be written by a few of our pastors. I encourage you to check them out!  

Because of the important role of prayer in spreading the Gospel, there will be a few things that you might experience as you pray for those around you. You will likely experience: 

  1. Distraction – the enemy doesn’t want you to pray! Set reminders and continue to focus on prayer. 

  2. A greater appreciation for what God has done by saving you, and a deeper burden for your friends to know God. 

  3. Confidence to get outside your comfort zone and take steps to intentionally spend time with those who don’t know Christ and possibly share the gospel yourself. 

We serve a mighty God who desires for people to accept His offer of forgiveness. It is a privilege to partner with Him as we pray for others to accept His offer. I’ll leave you with this verse:  

 

Ephesians 3:20 – 21 Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.
