TIME UNTIL WINTER CAMP

WHAT TO EXPECT

What:

Join us for a weekend in the mountains, connecting with other students. This camp promises to be an impactful experience to grow your faith and friendships.

Topic:

Jesus didn't choose perfect people to be His disciples. He chose ordinary, flawed individuals who struggled with pride, fear, doubt, selfishness, and failure. Yet through these imperfect people, God accomplished extraordinary things. At Winter Camp 2027: CHOSEN, we'll discover how Jesus takes broken people and transforms them into people who can make an eternal difference. Through three main sessions—CHOSEN, TRANSFORMED, and SENT—students will explore what it means to be called by Jesus, changed by His power, and sent out to live for His glory.

Additionally, throughout the weekend, students will experience engaging worship, practical breakout sessions, meaningful discussions, and plenty of opportunities to build friendships and have fun. Our prayer is that students leave camp understanding one life-changing truth: God doesn't need you to be perfect to use you. He calls you to trust Him, allow His power to transform you, and be part of His mission.

Q: What items should my student pack for camp?

A: Pine Summit is at a high altitude. Typically, the temperature is 10-20 degrees below that of Los Angeles and San Bernardino—averaging in the 40s-50s during the day and the 20s-30s at night. Please keep this in mind as you pack the items listed below:
  • Warm Clothes
  • Tennis Shoes or Winter Boots (there will likely be snow)
  • Pillow
  • Sleeping bag (linens are not supplied)
  • Water bottle
  • Flashlight
  • Bath towel
  • Soap, shampoo, etc.
  • Chapstick
  • Bible, Pen
  • Spending money (there is an on-site snack shop)
Note: Please bring ONLY what you can carry yourself. Try to fit everything into one bag if possible.

Q: Is there free time at camp?

A: Yes! There will be designated time slots for students to spend time playing games, doing the camp activities, and growing closer to old friends and making new ones!

Q: Will there be snow!?

A: While we cannot guarantee snow, there is a high likelihood that we will get enough snow to do some sledding. It will be cold enough for tongues to stick to metal poles, so don’t be a Ralphie.

Q: What are the sleeping arrangements at camp?

A: All sleeping areas will be assigned to specific genders and grades. Students will only have access to their assigned sleeping area.

Q: What will be the food at camp?

A: All our meals will be prepared by the camp kitchen staff. They offer a wide variety of great food! Make sure to indicate any food allergies on your sign-up form so we can let the staff know in advance.

Q: With the camp being coed, what will be the interaction between guys and girls during camp?

A: All students must stay in groups of two or more, and there are to be NO groups of just one guy and one girl allowed anywhere at camp.

Q: What is the policy on cellphone usage at camp?

A: Cell phones are ONLY allowed during designated free time or other times specifically communicated to students. Students may bring their phones, but should be prepared for minimal use. There will be one warning for cell phone misuse. If it happens a second time, the phone will be confiscated for the remainder of camp, and we will notify the student’s parents.

Q: Are there specific items that my student should NOT bring to camp?

      A: What Not to Bring:
  • Portable Video Game Devices
  • Pocketknives (or weapons of any kind)
  • Alcohol
  • Tobacco
  • Drugs
Note: If brought to camp, these items will be confiscated immediately, and parents will be notified. Depending on the severity of the item, parents may be asked to come pick up their student early from camp
